IF YOU WANT AN ABORTION, WE’RE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU.

Carolina Abortion Fund operates a secure & confidential phone line to help callers figure out the financial and logistic aspects of getting an abortion. We’ll talk with you about the kinds of support you are looking for and what your options are. Our goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and supported before, during, and after your procedure.

To make a funding request, please give us a call at 855-518-4603.

Please note that we are experiencing higher than normal volume of calls. We will return your call within 1-3 business days. We prioritize calls based on the appointment date.

Please note:

  • You will need to have a scheduled appointment to receive funding.

  • We fund callers who either live in North or South Carolina and/or have an appointment in North or South Carolina.

F.A.Q.

Where can I go to get an abortion?
We work with independent providers and Planned Parenthood locations in-state, as well as some out-of-state providers who offer care past 20 weeks gestation. Learn more about finding a provider on our Abortion FAQ page.

Who does CAF fund?
CAF funds residents of North and South Carolina as well as people coming to the Carolinas for their abortion care. We offer compassionate and honest care regardless of a caller's gender identity, financial reality, etc. We do not have any income requirements to receive funding.

Will CAF cover the entire cost my procedure?
Unfortunately, due to our limited budget and high call volume we are typically not able to cover the entire cost of an abortion. During our conversation with you, we will work together to determine your financial need and connect you with additional funding support if need be.

How do pledges work?
Pledges are commitments by CAF to pay a portion of your procedure cost. We send our pledge amounts directly to the abortion clinic. Instead of the clinic asking you to pay the amount of your pledge, the clinic will bill us directly for that amount.
You will never have to pay us back the pledge.

Why haven’t I heard back from you yet?
We understand how stressful it can be to wait for a call back and we appreciate your patience. We will do our absolute best to return your call in between 1-3 business days.

Our budget begins at the beginning of each month and we take requests for patients whose appointment is that week. The line remains open for requests as long as we have funding still available, so we frequently close before the end of the month. We receive over 100 funding requests a week and operate with a small staff- for this reason, you may not hear back from us the same day you leave us a message. We will return your call within 1-3 business days.

Please also indicate if we can leave a voicemail on your line. We make multiple attempts to reach callers, but call from a blocked number and will only leave a message with our direct extension if you explicitly tell us to.
